The history of Jiu-Jitsu has been marked by extraordinary moments.

Through this very rich history, we wanted to pay tribute to a particular moment that revolutionised the 1990s: the first ever Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Championship held in 1996 at Tenis Clube de Tijuca.

This “96 Mundial” kimono is a return to the roots of this first competition.

We have incorporated all our know-how in many details to make you feel like a competitor in this event: everything goes through it again and again.

It is an exceptional kimono featuring the many winners of this prestigious competition.

Everything has been designed and created to pay tribute to the participants of this first edition of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Championship.

The design is related to this first edition of the Mundial: many patches or embroideries recall the competition.

It is the meeting between the details of these two special days and the champions who made the event.

The first Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu took place on 3 and 4 February 1996 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Tijuca Tênis Clube in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The competition brought together countries such as the United States, Brazil, France, Japan, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Italy and Cuba.

A little history: The first black belt match in a world jiu jitsu tournament took place between two legendary lightweights, Helio “Soneca” and Octavio “Ratinho” Couto, a fight won by Soneca on points.

It is made of a single piece of material which ensures extreme strength through its construction and leaves no room for easy gripes with your partners.
